Chaque année, début avril, BD À BASTIA offre quatre jours consacrés aux voies émergentes, aux grands classiques, aux auteurs confirmés, à l’illustration pour la jeunesse et à l’étranger avec des pays invités. Les 17es rencontres Internationales de la bande dessinée et de l’illustration proposeront dix expositions au sein desquelles on retrouvera des auteurs illustrateurs jeunesse et des auteurs de bande dessinée.

Des expositions monographiques consacrées à Elzbieta, Jean-Pierre Gibrat, Joëlle Jolivet, BlexBolex, Albertine et Bastien Vivès. Des grands moments thématiques qui se développeront autour de la musique et du son dans la bande dessinée, avec notamment une scénographie de l’atelier Lucie Lom Le pays invité sera la Russie avec une représentation double qui accueillera auteurs pour la jeunesse et auteurs de bande dessinée. Enfin, débats, rencontres et spectacles en lien avec le livre seront au cœur du projet de BD À BASTIA 2010.

BD À BASTIA is a cultural event in order to meet famous authors, young talents, and discover classic comics or children’s literature from all around the world. It takes place every year, at the beginning of april. Comics, in the 90’s, explored new trends such as auto fiction and graphic novels. A new wave which reinvented the way to tell stories in pictures. The 9th art found a new place thanks to authors with audacity and young publishers. This new graphic narrative freedom and the Una Volta Cultural Center development project gave birth to BD À BASTIA. The project is focused on creation: exhibitions of original works, bewitching scenographies, workshops for schoolchildren, meetings and debates with the authors…

The BD À BASTIA goals are to introduce young authors to the public, to pay a tribute to great names, to display comics and children’s literature together, both authors and illustrators, because we think there are no borders between them. In 2010, the main theme of BD À BASTIA will be “comics and sound” with three exhibitions about this topic. Personal exhibitions of artists such as BlexBolex, Jean-Pierre Gibrat, Albertine, Joëlle Jolivet, Elzbieta will also take place… Russia will be the special guest with a lot of pictures from this country.
